A Narrative regarding the Prophet's Prayer against a Person who had a Grudge against the Qureish
Subject Matter of the Narrative:
According to Ibn Abi Shaybah's narrative no. 32399 it is reported:
روي أنه رجل قتل Ùقيل للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، Ùقال: أبعده الله، إنه كان يبغض قريشا.
It is narrated that a person got killed and it was brought to the notice of the Prophet (pbuh). The Prophet (pbuh) said: May God turn Him away, he held a grudge against Qureish.
A similar narrative is also reported in Abd Al-Razzaq's narrative no. 19904.
Comment on the Narrative
This narrative has been reported either directly by Muhammad ibn Muslim ibn Shahab (as in Abd al-Razzaq's narrative no. 19904) or through Saad ibn Abi Waqqas (as in Ibn Abi Shaybah's narrative no. 32399). However, Muhammad ibn Muslim ibn Shahab had neither met the Prophet (pbuh) nor any of his companions. Thus, the chain of this narrative is broken.
Because this narrative has been reported only through the chain which is broken, therefore, it would only be prudent not to accept the narrative as reliable.
