And He created seven skies (heavens) in two days, and taught each sky its duties. And He adorned the nearest sky (or: the sky of this world) with lamps (stars)… (Fussilat 41: 12).
It states that God took two days to create the heavens. I have always held the belief of “KunFayakun“, (i.e. be and it will be). If things materialize just by God willing it to materialize, why did it have to take two days?
I have given my opinion regarding the meaning of the phrase “Kun Fayakun“, as it has been used in the Qur’an, in one of my responses to a criticism on the Qur’an, titled: “Quick or Slow Creation’1. I would request you to kindly refer to the said article. In case any of your questions is left unanswered, please feel free in writing back to me, at your own convenience.
I hope this shall help.
