Is it condemnable to see nude movie with one’s wife?
I would not recommend seeing nude movies – with or without one’s spouse – as such an activity, clearly being contrary to the value of Hayaa1, seems to be against the spirit of Islam.
Seeing nude movies with one’s spouse – especially for the purpose of sexual arousal – cannot be termed as a normal sexual behavior. It can be seen as a form of voyeurism (where observing the sexual activity of others repeatedly is the preferred means of sexual arousal). Voyeurism, like exhibitionism, masochism and sadism is considered a deviation from normal sexual behavior. All such deviations may initially be seen as harmless ways of keeping one’s sex life exciting. However, indulgence in such deviations has the potential of developing into a psychological ailment, which ultimately may require consultation with a qualified person for correction and cure. The case for voyeurism seems to be no different, as per my knowledge.
Thus, indulgence in pornographic material, being contrary to the value of Hayaa, should – under normal circumstances – be refrained from, to the ultimate possible extent.

- Hayaa is one of the basic values that Islam wants to inculcate among its adherents. Due to a lack of accurate synonymous in the English language, I have used the Arabic word, which implies ‘the suppression of sexual interaction within certain limits and the avoidance of instigating sexual attraction or being instigated by a sexual attraction beyond those limits”.
