Important Islamic Dates

Question

I would like to know main events of Islamic religion?

Answer

There are only two religious celebrations, Eid Al Fitr (i.e. Festival of Feast) and Eid Al Adha (i.e. Festival of Sacrifice), in Islam. Other important events that are not holidays but have religious importance are Ramadan, which is the month of fasting, and Hajj (i.e. Grand Pilgrimage). Other days that are important to Muslims but do not have religious status are:

  • The Islamic New Year
  • Day of Ashura
  • Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday
  • Isra’ & Mi’raj
  • Nisf Sha’aban

I hope I have clarified the issue.

God knows best.
