Question
We as Muslims believe that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the greatest Prophet among all that Allah sent to us. Are there any relevant verses in the Holy Quran that state about Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) high state and authority among all other Prophets, basically stating that he (PBUH) was the greatest Prophet of all?
Answer
I do agree that most Muslims believe that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the greatest and the most exalted among all the prophets of God. However, there is no basis of this belief in the Qur’an. In my opinion, therefore, the stated Muslim belief is, in fact, not an Islamic belief.

I hope this helps.
