At the UN, Algeria increases the tone for Gaza: “We will come back”

You are not alone. ” It is the message hammered twice by the Algerian Ambassador Amar Bendjama to the address of the Palestinian people, during a vibrant intervention in the Security Council.

Bendjama called on the Council to impose an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to end the suffering of civilians: “So that the murder of children does not become a hobby, so that the family is not a weapon, so that international law is not despised. Quoting President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, he reaffirmed that Algeria “will not abandon Palestine” and will continue to bring his voice to the UN. “We will come back for children, women, fathers, hungry, thirsty. We will come back because the Palestinians deserve to live in dignity. We are not resigned.” A poignant speech, calling to break the silence and to bring down the “shield of impunity”.
