Belgium: More than 500 people gathered in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Molenbeek church for an IFTA
Last night, more than 500 people gathered in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church in Molenbeek for an Iftar (fasting meal of the fast) Solidaire, organized as part of the candidacy Molenbeek for Brussels 2030 under the European Capital of Culture. This event, held in the middle of Lent, brought together participants from all walks of life around sharing and opening values. “The spirit of ‘Sadaka’ (alms), present in many cultures, embodies the DNA of our candidacy. It is this message of solidarity that we want to bring to Europe”said Fatima Zibouh and Jan Goossens, project managers. After a preselection by the European jury, this evening mobilized artists and civil society to strengthen the dynamics around the candidacy. A concrete way to illustrate the cultural and inclusive ambition of Molenbeek.
