Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei strengthens its commitment to digital education in Tunisia
On the occasion of the CCK-Huawei Technology Summit held yesterday in the Tunisian capital, the Chinese telecommunications giant, world leader in telecom equipment and pioneer of cloud solutions, reaffirmed its commitment to the modernization of the local education system. Present in more than 170 countries, Huawei invests heavily in R&D, devoting around 25% of its annual turnover to innovation.
“Education is a priority pillar of our national strategy“, declared the Minister of Communication Technologies, Sofiene Hemissi, welcoming this partnership which will allow “to exploit technological advances in the service of innovation“.
Already present in 68 Tunisian university establishments, Huawei has set up a cloud computing system which now equips 14 universities. “More than 7,000 students have already benefited from our training“, specifies Qin Zhaobing, vice-president of Huawei North Africa, who announces a new training program for “10,000 experts in 5G, cloud and AI technologies over the next five years.”
This initiative is part of Huawei’s broader strategy to strengthen its influence in North Africa. By investing in education, the company not only develops a pool of local talent who will master its technologies, but it also solidifies its position in a competitive market where digital expertise is becoming a major issue.
This strategic partnership could thus redefine the techno-educational dynamic in Tunisia, offering the country leverage to accelerate its economic development in the digital age.
