Current values puts Zemmour on the cover: civil war as a political project
Eric Zemmour appears again as a prophet of chaos, one of the extreme right magazine Current valuestitling without detour: “Civil war has already started”. It is not an alert, it is a call. An assumed fantasy. That of a multi -registered man of hatred, condemned for racism, who dreams of a country with fire and blood. Zemmour no longer hides anything: he wants war between French. He prepares it, justifies it, excites it. It blows on the embers, stigmatizes, divides, until hoping for the conflagration. It is no longer provocation, it is a destruction company.
And during this time, some still invite him to debate as a “legitimate” actor of the democratic game. And yet, despite his marginal score, despite his repeated outrageous, part of the media continues to unroll the red carpet. Plateaux, tribunes, accomplices interviews: Zemmour is treated there as a thinker when he is only a pyromaniac. This media complacency, far from harmless, contributes to normalizing its identity obsessions and installing a climate of suspicion and rejection.
Worse still, his ideas end up irrigating the speeches of elected officials, the violent fantasies of groups, and sometimes, acting. Zemmour knows it. And he also knows that he can continue without brake. His assumed racism, his claimed Islamophobia, his calls for the national fracture come up against an almost total impunity. In this disfigured landscape, he thrives.
