A web TV to dismantle extreme right speeches
Recently created, ‘Uppercut is a militant web TV whose assumed vocation is to “box political and media propaganda of the extreme right”. Thomas Guénolé offers short educational formats, mixing decryption, argumentative tutorials and analyzes of concrete cases. Are targeted: media figures like Éric Zemmour, political leaders like Jordan Bardella or Marine Le Pen, but also radical right media like CNews.
The objective: to equip all those who, in their professional, school or personal life, are faced with racist, xenophobic or Islamophobic speeches. “It is not enough to feel that it is bullshit, you have to know how to dismantle it by point,” he says.
Multiply “anti -racist boxers”
The approach ofUppercut TV is clear: disseminating intellectual self -defense tools, popularized, effective, so that targeted people can retaliate. “The idea is empowerment. That the people concerned can box the propaganda of the extreme right themselves, ”insists Guénolé. He also assumes a “dirty kid” side “: in addition to tutorials, he offers videos to learn to massively report hateful content to Arch, with a goal: to obtain the closure of chains like CNEWS.
“I was the opponent, not the deposit”
Asked about his participation in Touche not at my post On C8, Guénolé rejects the idea of having been a “left surety”. He defended himself firmly: “I was paid to contradict them head on, not to accompany them. He claims to have contributed to carry, in one of the greatest media megaphones, minority speeches, in particular on the Palestinian cause or on the denunciation of the concept of “anti-white racism”.
Palestine: break the silence in front of the genocide
For Thomas Guénolé, the current Israeli propaganda is fully due to the extreme right ideology. He accuses the Netanyahu government of committing war crimes and a genocide against the Palestinians. “74 % of victims are civilians. It is not a burr, it is an extermination strategy, “he said, based on international NGO figures. He also castigates the systematic demonization of those who defend international law: “When did we lose all moral sense?” »»
An independent initiative
Entirely self -funded via a kitty on Tipeee, Uppercut TV For the moment is based on the personal commitment of Thomas Guénolé. He calls for solidarity to bring this project to life which, according to him, responds to a democratic and moral emergency: “If we do not finance our counterpower ourselves, no one will do it for us. »»
