David Guiraud puts two BFM TV journalists in their place: “And when do you talk about Palestinian prisoners?”

MP David Guiraud reacted to questions from BFM TV journalists asking him if he was delighted with the release of the Israeli hostages – a legitimate emotion, according to him. However, he denounced the double standards of the media, which never ask the same question regarding Palestinian prisoners. An attitude that he attributes to the persistence of a colonial bias and the resumption of Israeli propaganda systematically presenting Palestinians as terrorists. In this tense exchange, David Guiraud pointed out the media hypocrisy consisting of ranking suffering according to their origin. He recalled that thousands of Palestinians, including many children, are arbitrarily detained in Israeli prisons without this causing any stir on television sets. Through his outspokenness, the France Insoumise MP thus highlighted the partiality of media coverage which, far from informing, often contributes to maintaining a dehumanized vision of the Palestinian people.
