Gaza: French unions call for massive mobilization on June 14

Faced with the horror which continues in Gaza, the main French trade union organizations – CFDT, CGT, UNSA, Solidaires and FSU – launch a clear call. In a common declaration, they denounce “The deadly flight from the Israeli authorities” and “Exactions committed with impunity on an already overwhelmed civilian population”.

For more than 600 days, they have recalled, the Palestinians of Gaza live under the bombs, deprived of food, moved by force. “It is no longer a war, it is a collapse of humanity”alerts a spokesperson for Solidaires. The Israeli government, accused of feeding “without complex” genocidal intentions, is said to be‘”Train Israel in a moral bankruptcy”under the helpless gaze of the international community and “The accomplice silence of many Western decision -makers”.

The unions are also indignant at the revival of colonization in the West Bank, especially in East Jerusalem. “The occupation, the annexation, the displacement of the population: all this constitutes crimes with regard to international law”recalls the CGT. They call on European leaders to get out of hypocrisy: “ They have the means to act, as they have already done elsewhere. What are they waiting for? »»

Their claims platform is clear: suspension of the UE-Israel association agreement, stopping arms deliveries, active support for the International Criminal Court and immediate recognition of the State of Palestine. “The right to self -determination of the Palestinian people is not negotiable,” said the FSU.

They also demand the release of all Palestinian political prisoners, the release of Israeli hostages held by armed groups, and the immediate recovery of humanitarian aid in Gaza. “What is at stake is not only the survival of a people is the credibility of international law,” insists the UNSA. Finally, the unions salute the many mobilizations that multiply in France, in the world, and even in Israel: “We are not alone in saying no to this war. They call for a large inter -union demonstration in Paris, Saturday June 14 at 2 p.m., from the Place de la République, As part of the World Actions Weekend for Gaza. Objective: require an immediate cease-fire and unhindered access to humanitarian aid.
