Gaza: Israel entrusts the safety of food aid to a US Islamophobic gang, reveals the BBC

Members of an American biker gang known for its positions hostile to Islam provide armed security of aid distribution sites in Gaza, says the BBC. The British media investigation reveals that at least ten members of Infidels Motorcycle Club Work for the private company UG Solutions (UGS), responsible for securing the Gaza Centers Humanitarian Foundation. The BBC stresses that seven of them occupy positions of responsibility.

Founded in 2006 by former veterans of the Iraq war, the gang claims the heritage of the crusades and sports the cross of the crusaders as a symbol. On his social networks, he regularly relays Islamophobic remarks, still writes the BBC. The group notably organized a “pig roast” during Ramadan, displays the figure 1095 – Year of the launch of the first crusade against Muslims – and publishes hateful comments aimed at “their muhammad” or calling for preparing to shoot Muslims.

UG Solutions defends its recruitment, claiming that it does not discriminate according to the “hobbies or affiliations” of its employees. The humanitarian foundation, for its part, claims to have a policy of “zero tolerance” vis-à-vis hate speech. Edward Ahmed Mitchell, deputy director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), denounces to the BBC a “insane” decision and “doomed to lead to violence”, comparing this situation to “put the Ku Klux Klan in charge of a humanitarian mission in Africa”. According to the UN, more than 1,100 Palestinian civilians have been killed since the opening of these sites at the end of May, most of them by Israeli army fire. Israel says incidents remain “under examination”.

This BBC survey highlights the cynical logic of the occupation above all: Israel is not content to starve the population of Gaza, it delegates the management of aid to openly Islamophobic mercenaries, transforming the lines of hunger into fatal traps. The presence of these far-right groups is not an accident but the expression of an assumed policy, where contempt for Palestinian life goes hand in hand with the encouragement to anti-Muslim hatred.
