June 23, 2001

Question

Salam

I want to know how many times the ‘name’ of the Holy Prophet, PBUH, “Mohammad” is mentioned in The Holy Book, Koran. Please, tell me the names of the Chapters in which the ‘name’ Mohammed is present. I know that The Holy Prophet PBUH is mentioned as Rasool and Nabi etc, but I want to know How many times the name MOHAMMED is mentioned in Koran.

Thanks

Answer

The name ‘Muhammad’ has been mentioned four times in the Qur’an. The particular instances follow::

  1. Aal Imraan 3: 144;

  2. Al-Ahzaab 33: 40;

  3. Muhammad 47: 2; and

  4. Al-Fatah 48: 29

The name ‘Ahmad’ has been mentioned once in Al-Saff 61: 6.

I hope this helps.

Regards
