Ian Brossat (PCF) wishes to see the Eiffel Tower illuminated in the colors of Palestine

Guest on BFM TV, the Paris Senator and PCF spokesperson, Ian Brossat, praised Olivier Faure’s proposal to wear the Palestinian flag on town halls on September 22. He recalled that several communist city councilors had already done it “for weeks”, citing the mayors of plane (Pas-de-Calais) and Ivry. Faced with “the current genocide in Gaza” and the “18,000 children killed by Israel”, Brossat estimates “happy that in France we can display his solidarity with Palestine”. “Now, as soon as we display his solidarity with Palestine, we are immediately confronted with a series of howls, sometimes censorship, since these mayors were sent back to the administrative court,” he deplored, stressing that no controversy had arisen when Ukrainian flags had been deployed.

The senator also wants the Eiffel Tower to be illuminated in Palestinian colors “the day when France will finally recognize the state of Palestine”. “I made the request and it would seem right to me,” he added.
