Is There Any Standard Form or Method for Performing Ghusl?

January 29, 2005

Question

Different articles/books/literatures of authors and schoolars have shown variations in the method of preforming the ritual bath (ghusl). I will appreciate it if the above question is put in the right light (an explanation of the process and if variation is permitted) for all to benefit.

Answer

The standard is really to wash ones body thoroughly of all impurities. Although you have not provided us with any variations that we can examine I can assure you that any variations that do exist were because the Prophet had not made them fixed.

Regards
