Jean-Michel Aphatie reacts to his withdrawal of RTL and relaunches the debate on the colonization of Algeria
In a series of messages on X (ex-Twitter), Jean-Michel Aphatie reacts to his withdrawal of the RTL antenna, a first in his career, following his words comparing the colonization of Algeria and Oradour-sur-Glane. The journalist, who claims to benefit from the support of many historians on “the reality of the facts” concerning the colonization of Algeria, denounces the attacks of media figures like Cyril Hanouna and Pascal Praud. He underlines the differentiated treatment with Éric Zemmour who, according to him, has never been dismissed despite several convictions.
In this same thread, Jean-Michel Aphatie points to a Parisian nursery school always with the name of General Lamoricière, qualified by historian Charles-André Julien as “the most inhuman of all the great leaders of Africa”. The journalist judges “stunning” that French children are educated in an establishment bearing the name of a “war criminal” of the Algerian conquest. He also criticizes Marine Le Pen’s position minimizing the impact of colonization and announces that “many things” remain on the subject.
