London: Israeli President Isaac Herzog welcomed by demonstrators: ‘War criminal!’ ”

At the heart of his official visit to London, Israeli President Israeli Herzog went yesterday to Chatham House, prestigious independent think tank, for an interview and a public debate.

The citizens of the world – and the British in this case -, unlike their leaders, are horrified by the current genocide in Gaza. For them, Herzog is not an official to welcome, but an authentic criminal, which enjoys incredible impunity. Only daily citizen mobilizations can push certain European leaders, accomplices of this genocide, to finally take strong measures against the State of Israel.

Surrounded by his bodyguards in an impressive security device, Herzog pretended not to hear the hoots waiting for him. But it was undoubtedly annoyed to note that despite the protocol reception reserved by the authorities, it was received by the street in a rain of invective. Outside, the demonstrators called him a “war criminal” and claimed his arrest. From now on, it becomes almost impossible for Israeli leaders to move to Europe without being conspired. Everywhere, a citizen reception committee reminds them of their crimes: colonization, apartheid, massacres of civilians and genocide in Gaza – a crime qualified as such by many NGOs, human rights associations and even political leaders around the world.

Each official trip thus turns into popular disavowal and symbol of the growing isolation of Israel on the international scene.
