Love and knowledge
In a holy tradition where the divine presence is expressed by the mouth of the prophet Muhammad, God said:
“I was a hidden treasure and I liked to be known. So I created the creatures to be known by them ”
From there, we deduce, as a Sufis, that any creative act is an act of love, and that this act is an invitation to knowledge. Love must bring us to knowledge and knowledge to love …
This is how we can understand the wonderful words of compassion that are reported to us by the beings made. As an example, this edifying word of the Prophet Muhammad who, during a stay in Taïf, when he was mocked by the people of this city, who chased him away by throwing stones that ended up injuring and having him bleed level of the hocks, turned to them. Putting his look of mercy on his detractors and addressing the divine presence, he then said: “Forgive them, my God, because they don’t know …”
We see there that this compassion is not an over -added virtue, but rather the fruit of a conscience, therefore of a knowledge that the Prophet on those who throw the stone. We could very easily compare this episode with that of Jesus saying: “May the one who has never sinned throws the first stone!” ». Just by this sentence, Jesus opened the consciousness of those who were present and allowed them to return to themselves and thus to know each other.
In the same way, during this episode, the Prophet, who was accompanied by a few people, was questioned: ” But why, do you say that, oh sent from God? ». What he replied: “It may be that Allah makes their kidneys come out of their kidneys which will devote itself to the Lord and will serve it”.
Is love something that does not want to blend into it? This research of unity, as unconscious as it is, this momentum towards the other must lead us to unification to the object of our love. And the search for our origin, of the source of life is innate in all human beings, whatever our journey, believing or not a hectic.
We only seek lost paradise which, in reality, is none other than divine perfection from which we all do. This research can be done through prisms that are all objects of love: the love of the family, the fatherland, to be at the service of a cause etc.
We keep loving and looking for unity, even paradoxically, being racist for example, we would like everyone to be like us! But this limited consciousness of reality and divine unity will never fully satisfy our soul, because we will only be in peace when we finally be in the realization of unity, which is nothing other than love all creation. As if love and knowledge were, in the end, only the two sides of the same reality!
