Question
Assalamu alaikum va rahmathullah,
I have heard that if you hold the kabaa and ask Allah, he would give whatever you ask. is it true? What are the time Allah would surely answer our prayers.? Any conditions for that?
Answer
Wa Alaykumu Salam
Islam’s teachings are about attaining a closer relationship to the Almighty. The guidance provided in the Qur’an and Sunnah are to instill godliness in the essence of the individual. Thus, the foundation of our faith is the connection we have with God. With that established, we know that God hears and knows our needs and desires. When we reach out to the Almighty, the most fundamental aspect we must keep in mind is our spiritual level. Our piety is our greatest mechanism to our prayers answered. Placing one’s hand on an object, or holding something or swearing on something has no bearing on God’s response. The notion that we would get whatever we want, through whatever method used, is faulty. It is unfortunate that people have invested in these fairytale-like beliefs where a powerful being grants a person his/her wish without regard for anything else. The faithful should know that this is not how it works and we should not expect it to be this way. The believer should know in his/her heart that there are important things that require far more than a mere wish. Moreover, the expectation to attain things so easily would decay the very spirituality we are to possess. Once we realize this, desires should be viewed in a more balanced way. Besides, what we may want today may not seem so desirable tomorrow. Human impulse can be erratic.
The Ka’bah is the sacred place of worship; it is not lamp that you can touch or rub to make wishes come true. In addition, there are times when one may feel more spiritually connected but there is no moment of time when you are assured of getting what you want.
If we put faith in God and live life in accordance to him that should fulfill a major part of our lives. Of course, there are our material pursuits and we should endeavor to attain them as best as we can keeping in our minds and hearts our Creator. There is nothing wrong with asking Him to make our wishes come true but we should not expect that He will or that because we asked for something in a particular manner that we would get it.
I hope this helps.
God knows best.
