Nurse Imane Maarifi leaves police custody free and with a Palestinian flag!
No one emerges unscathed from police custody, especially when it occurs brutally and unjustly, after a surprise arrest at home, followed by a most destabilizing search.
Finally free after a particularly trying day spent at the station, and in the hot seat, Imane Maarifi, the emergency-resuscitation nurse who went to the hell of Gaza, to the bedside of her tortured population, appeared smiling, despite the fatigue and stress.
The courageous nurse, the victim of denunciation, left relieved (no charges were brought against her) and brandishing the Palestinian flag, as a sign of her unwavering commitment.
In a cruel irony of fate, last February, in front of parliamentarians who were all ears, Imane Maarifi delivered a precise and poignant testimony of the scale of the disaster in the Gaza Strip, and of the horror of the genocide perpetrated by Israel. (see below the video of his hearing at the National Assembly). Today, the State seeks to silence her, like so many others, by using intimidation, demonization and repression.
