“On the eve of the barbaric invasions”: journalist Isabelle Saporta denounces a political anxiety delirium around the report on the entrism of the Muslim Brotherhood

On RTL, journalist Isabelle Saporta strongly criticized the anxiety climate surrounding the report on “entrism” of the Muslim Brotherhood. “” “We have the impression of being on the eve of the barbaric invasions ”she launched, denouncing the alarmist tone of the government and a large part of the political class. “To hear our Minister of the Interior, we would be on D-1 to switch to Sharia law”she quips, castigating excessive use of warrior metaphors. And add: “Everyone, apart from Jean-Luc Mélenchon, goes from his war and deadly metaphor to explain to us that our identity, our freedom and the cohesion of society would be threatened.”

However, she recalls, the data of the report is far from a “Tsunami Frériste” :: 139 mosques deemed problematic out of 2,800 (5 %), 4,200 students in schools related to 1.7 million Muslim students (0.25 %), 127 sports associations out of 325,000 (0.04 %) and 280 cultural associations out of 1.5 million (0.02 %). “Admit that we are a little more relaxed, right?”she slips, calling on political leaders to “replace things in perspective” and to avoid paranoia.

If Isabelle Saporta recognizes the existence of a threat, it points to its true source: social networks, where radical Islamist influencers bring together millions of young people. “And against that, what do we do? Not much, not to say anything”she regrets. She is finally concerned about the proposals of Gabriel Attal, such as the prohibition of the veil for minors or the creation of an offense targeting parents. “What are we going to do the police to question the teenage girls on the street to find out if they wear the veil of their own freezing? Intervene in families? But it’s not okay, right?”she is indignant. And conclude: “By dint of stigmatizing our Muslim compatriots, we risk making them lose all confidence in the Republic.”
