Rally / Stop the massacre in Gaza! France must demand an immediate ceasefire
We demand an immediate end to military operations against the Gaza Strip. The offensive carried out by the State of Israel against the population of the Gaza Strip, its homes and its infrastructure is of unprecedented violence.
We condemn the war crimes committed by Hamas commandos against Israeli civilians, crimes which cost the lives of more than 1,400 people, including hundreds of women and children. Like any oppressed people, the Palestinian people have the right to resist, but nothing can justify such acts.
These crimes can in no way justify Israel committing other war crimes with the approval of its allies. Every Israeli and Palestinian civilian victim is to be deplored. Each life counts as much as another in our eyes. We demand the immediate release of all civilians taken hostage.
Entire neighborhoods in the Gaza Strip have been razed, schools, universities and hospitals destroyed. On October 18, 3,478 people were killed, including 853 children and 6 journalists, including hundreds of deaths in the bombing of the Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza, 12,500 injured, and hundreds of thousands of displaced people who are homeless. Due to an inhumane siege, water, electricity and food are in dire shortage. Already hard hit, the population of the Gaza Strip is on the verge of a major humanitarian catastrophe. These are war crimes and today target the men, women and children of the Gaza Strip, numbering 2.2 million.
We urgently ask the President of the Republic to cease his unconditional support for Israeli policy. France should carry the voice of peace.
France must demand the immediate lifting of the inhumane siege imposed on the population of Gaza, and the cancellation of the order to evacuate half of the territory of the Gaza Strip. Beyond the humanitarian catastrophe that we denounce, nothing can justify the massive destruction of civilian infrastructure that such an operation would entail.
We demand an end to military operations against the Gaza Strip, of which the civilian populations are and will be the main victims, as part of a total and immediate ceasefire.
For decades the international community has remained passive without enforcing international law in the face of the denials of the rights of the Palestinian people: endless occupation and colonization of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, destructive and inhumane blockade of the Gaza Strip. for 16 years…
A just and lasting peace will only be possible within the framework of the recognition of the rights of the Palestinian people.
We call to gather everywhere in France on the basis of this call.
In Paris, we are calling for a large gathering on Sunday October 22 at 3 p.m. in République.
Freedoms of expression and demonstration, fundamental democratic freedoms, must be respected.
