Recognition of Palestine: “a historic moment”, salutes the ambassador Hala Abu-Hassira

Hala Abu-Hassira, Ambassador of Palestine in France, welcomed the commitment to Emmanuel Macron to fully recognize the state of Palestine during the next UN General Assembly in September. “It is a historical moment, a moment of truth,” she said, welcoming a France “faithful to her history, to her policy, to international law”, and to the law of the Palestinian people to self-determination. In a letter addressed to President Mahmoud Abbas, the French head of state would have confirmed this intention, marking a major diplomatic turning point. An announcement which already arouses the ire of the French supporters of Benyamin Netanyahu, stuck in a genocidal war in Gaza and targeted by an arrest warrant of the International Criminal Court. Between diplomatic pressures and media relays, these supporters are busy to try to retreat Paris, furious to see France distance itself from the impunity of the Israeli regime.
