Resumption of war in Gaza: Israel seeks to exterminate the maximum of Palestinians to force them to leave
The Israeli government has just given a resumption of air bombings against the Gaza Strip. These bombings which made overnight Monday to Tuesday more than 300 dead are part of a plan of war planned in advance and which revolves around a large -scale earth war in order to reoccupy the enclave and park the populations in so -called “humanitarian” camps in order to get rid of them. The prospect of a massive expulsion of the Palestinians who involves an appalling ethnic cleaning may set fire to the powder in the region.
As we feared since Israel froze the cease-fire agreement by refusing to negotiate the terms of the second stage as it was stipulated in the agreement of January 19, the Netanyahu government has just given the order to resume intensive bombardments in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli air attack on the night of Monday to Tuesday saw the participation of no less than 100 aircraft and left more than 300 dead.
This particularly deadly air attack announces the start of a war which will unfortunately be more devastating than that which fell on Gaza from October 2023 to January 2025.
Israeli propaganda which will be relayed by the French mainstream media as usual will attribute the resumption of war to Hamas who refused the last proposals of Trump in the Middle East, who asked Hamas to release five Israeli-American hostages against an extension of the truce of about fifty days.
In reality, the Americans know very well that the Israeli government only saves time with its proposal for a extension of the first stage of the ceasefire in order to release the maximum of Israeli hostages and to then have their hands free in its ethnic cleansing business in Gaza.
The resumption of war was in the shelves of the Israeli government and staff. It was a matter of time. Today or in a month or two. Hamas’ refusal to obey the injunctions of the American envoy is a fallacious pretext for a resumption of the war planned in advance and dictated by several factors of political, diplomatic and military.
Political factors
On the political level, the ceasefire agreement of January 19, if it allowed the release of several dozen Israeli prisoners, was rejected by part of the Netanyahu allies within the government and therefore weakened the government coalition. To save and consolidate the latter, Netanyahu did not find better than to take over the war from which he hopes to draw new political dividends.
But the other political factor that pushes the ultra Israeli government to take over the war relates to a structural trend that has worked in depth for several Israeli society: the decline in the Israeli left which coincides with the departure of several hundred thousands of Israelis who are generally hostile to the permanent war climate and the rise of radical Zionist currents carried by Jewish supremacist who do not hide their desire to realize the dream of the great Israel which goes through the massive expulsion of the Palestinians of Gaza and West Bank.
Diplomatic factors
On the diplomatic level, the coming to power of Trump, whose proximity to an evangelist and messianist right is known to be proximity to which white supremacism does not prevent it from openly professing “Christian Zionism” is a boon for the Netanyahu government and its allies of the Jewish supremacist far right.
Even if Trump’s unpredictability has been able to arouse some concerns in the Israeli government, the speed with which the new Trump administration turned against an agreement of this cease-fire which was however negotiated by the Biden administration with the assent of Trump itself before he was officially invested in the White House) shows that the strategic and ideological convergence between the two allies is stronger.
The Israeli government can count all the better on the support of Trump in his war that the latter is occupied by his trade war against the whole world and his diplomatic showdown with Europe concerning the Ukrainian file.
The Netanyahu government also believes, rightly or wrongly, that the regional context is now favorable to a total war against the Palestinian people both in Gaza and in the West Bank in order to settle the Palestinian question in its own way. Iran, whose main regional vector (Lebanese Hezbollah) is neutralized, can only make the round back in front of the bellicose Trump administration.
Finally, the Netanyahu government can only be encouraged in its warrior enterprise by the attitude of the Arab countries whose suspicious moderation can only be interpreted as a signal in favor of the destruction of the common enemy which has become Hamas.
In reality, Israeli-Arab criminal complicity goes beyond this mobile since it is now the Palestinian national liberation movement which constitutes an abscess of social and symbolic fixation for all the revolutions to come in the region against the imperial-reactionary order of which the State of Israel constitutes the main gendarme.
Military factors
On the military level, the resumption of war in Gaza will not be a simple reproduction of what was seen during the period which extends from October 2023 to January 2025.
If war is the continuation of politics by other means as Clausewitz said, then the new war triggered by Israel unfortunately risks being even more appalling insofar as it is called upon to concretize on the ground the terrible conclusion to which the Israeli government has arrived under the pressure of the Jewish supremacist extreme right, namely that the survival of Israel is now required by Hamas claims Israeli propaganda which will be massively relayed by the French mainstream media) but from the Palestinian Society of Gaza.
The information that the Israeli media has allowed to filter concerning the war plan prepared for several months already by the new Chief of the Israeli Army, the general of division, Eyal Zamir, leave no doubt. The resumption of the war in Gaza should have a single objective: exterminating the maximum of Palestinians to force them to leave.
Indeed, the war plan is focused mainly on a terrestrial invasion which will stand out from that which was previously carried out by a desire for permanent occupation of the field and by the creation of so -called “humanitarian” zones for the displaced populations which will be administered directly by the army to the model of the camps that the French army has installed in Algeria.
The population of the north of Gaza will be moved once again to the south of the enclave, perhaps definitively while waiting for the Israeli government to solve the problem of this demographic surplus which disturbs its short-term calculations.
Disturbing perspectives
Faced with the fatal perspective of a new war of extermination which constitutes a serious offense to humanity, no word can express what men who still have a heart can feel or what human conscience can represent.
Only strength can stop the madness of Israel. And those who have this strength (the nuclear powers on a global scale) obviously have no interest in going so far to save the unfortunate Palestinian people who have the bad luck to be faced with a state which acts as if it were above international laws.
There remains the strength of the weak which can be in certain formidable circumstances when it feeds on faith and when it is accompanied by the tactical intelligence of those who are forced to fight in unfavorable conditions. Israel has the strength on its side. For now. But he is not immune to the cunning in history. The narrative of victory especially when it is blinded by illusory appearances and resentment is not always good advise
The contradictions that this war is likely to update, if it is not stopped in time, can prove to be explosive and undermine the stability of a region which continues to be a nerve center for the global economy.
Egypt and Jordan are today back to the wall. Until then, they have shown, more than measure, their attachment to separate peace agreements with the State of Israel. What will he be tomorrow when the Israeli army begins to concretely develop its plan for a massive expulsion of the Palestinians of Gaza and West Bank?
