Saudi Arabia is betting on Halal coffee to strengthen its industry
The Saudi Coffee Company (SCC) and the Halal Products Development Company (HPDC) have signed a strategic agreement aimed at strengthening the links between the coffee industry and the Halal sector. This partnership will facilitate halal certification of products, while promoting the exchange of knowledge and market expansion.
Subsidiaries of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the two companies will collaborate on several axes, including awareness of the market, research, training and compliance with Halal standards. According to Mohammed Zainy, Marketing and Communication Director of SCC, this initiative meets the growing demand for Halal certified products and will make it possible to reach new consumers internationally.
For its part, HPDC plays a key role in the development of the halal sector in Saudi Arabia and worldwide. The company aims to structure a sustainable ecosystem, online with the objectives of economic diversification of the 2030 vision. For Dr. Sarah Almugairin, adviser of the CEO of HPDC, this partnership will help to position Saudi coffee on the global market and to strengthen the place of the country in Halal industry.
