Scotland: Celtic Football Club supporters send powerful message of support for Palestine
In a Scotland where the desire for independence has never faded over the centuries, and has even been revived by the man who now embodies it, Humza Yousaf, the pro-independence Prime Minister of Muslim faith who is a symbol in himself, Solidarity with Palestine is not an empty phrase…
This unwavering solidarity is held up as a standard by Humza Yousaf, whose wife is of Palestinian origin and whose in-laws, who remained in Gaza, were caught in the trap of bloody Israeli reprisals.
While he will remain in the annals as the first Western leader to have pleaded, as early as October 10, 2023, for a ceasefire in Gaza, the solidarity of his fellow citizens with the martyred land of Palestine was once again on display in Glasgow.
On Wednesday evening, in the prestigious grounds of Celtic Park, during a Champions League match, the fervent supporters of the invincible club Celtic, crowned Scottish Champion no less than 54 times, unfurled a huge banner on which a message of support of rare force was written in black and white:
“ They can oppress you, they can imprison you, but they will never break your spirit. Gaza, Jenin, Tulkarem, Nablus, You will never walk alone.”
