More than 30,000 Palestinian victims including 25,000 women and children

and 2.2 million threatened with famine

The number of victims of the massacres taking place in Gaza since October 8, 2024 has just crossed the threshold of 30,000 victims, of which, according to the head of the Pentagon, 25,000 are women and children, not counting the victims buried under the rubble and injuries numbering in the tens of thousands.

This grim toll, judged to be below reality by many observers, continues to grow. In addition to incessant and indiscriminate bombings and shootings, there is famine, lack of drinking water and disease. According to the UN, 2.2 million people, the vast majority of the population of the Gaza territory, are threatened with famine.

The UN also denounced obstacles imposed by Israel, which controls the sole entry of aid from Egypt. The few humanitarian convoys that are allowed to pass find themselves blocked by extremist settlers.

This Thursday, February 29, 2024, Israeli fire with live ammunition on Palestinian civilians, waiting for a distribution of food aid near Gaza City, left more than 104 dead and dozens injured.

The unbearable situation of Palestinian civilians has given rise to thousands of images and videos that are traumatic for all of humanity. It will forever remain in the consciousness of men and women loving peace and justice as a serious betrayal of the universal principles which should govern our world.

The CFCM calls on the active forces of our country to continue their mobilization for peace in the Middle East and a just and equitable solution for all the populations of this battered region.

As the month of Ramadan approaches, the month when every Muslim voluntarily experiences hunger and thirst, the month of solidarity, sharing and generosity, the CFCM calls on all Muslims in France to further support NGOs mobilized in humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilian populations, favoring those recognized by our country for this type of mission.

The CFCM calls in particular on the mosques of France to allow these NGOs to collect funds to help Palestinian civilians who are facing a disastrous humanitarian situation without means.
