The Ballon d’Or 2022 is certainly not his first pilgrimage to the Holy Land, having accomplished with the same fervor the big one (the Hajj) and the little one (the Umrah). But this is the first time that he has joined the long processions of the faithful, dressed in the immaculate white Ihram, since he chose to make Saudi Arabia his home. A land where you can end your career in style, while recharging your batteries spiritually.
Taking advantage of a well-deserved footballing truce, at the end of the Arab tournament, the star Karim Benzema has once again won the hearts of his millions of supporters and co-religionists on the surface of the globe. He showed his attachment to the Muslim religion in word, in writing and in action.
