The UN, the focal point of a striking scene between the ambassadors of Algeria and Palestine
The first, ready to cross swords for Palestine, used all his powers of persuasion to win his case with the UN Security Council. The second, full of gratitude towards Algeria, distinguished himself by a strong gesture which says a lot about the unwavering Algerian-Palestinian alliance. Diplomats Amar Bendjema and Riyad Mansour attracted all eyes on Monday and the striking scene of their exchanges went viral.
It's at the end of a decisive vote in favor of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, which owes much to the tireless efforts of Algerian diplomacy, that a memorable press conference was held: the one given by the Palestinian ambassador to the UN, Riyad Mansour.
Indeed, as he approached the lectern to speak, looking for Amar Bendjema, his Algerian counterpart and true hero of the day, so that he would stand at his side as a sign of recognition, calling out to him: Amar, come here, next to me », the latter had this beautiful response, imbued with eloquent humility, which will go down in history: “ No, I will stay behind you and Palestine always.”
