University of Dakar: the ambassador of Israel Yuval Waks expelled under the pressure of the students

Tuesday, May 27, at Cheikh Anta Diop (UCAD) University of Dakar, the Israel Ambassador to Senegal, Yuval Waks, was forced to leave a conference on international relations, following a strong student protest.

Invited to participate in an academic panel, the diplomat was greeted by a mobilization of students opposed to his presence. Upon his arrival, several of them, sporting Palestinian flags and Keffiehs, gathered to express their rejection of the Israeli representation on the campus. In videos widely shared on social networks, we hear slogans hostile to Israel and supporting Palestine, strengthened, in a tense and determined atmosphere. Faced with increasing pressure and the impossibility of continuing the event in peace, Yuval Waks had to leave the premises under escort. The conference could not stand as planned.
