Warning! Halal merguez sausages recalled throughout France. They may contain “veterinary drug residues”

In fact, since Monday July 15, several batches of halal merguez sold in Metro stores throughout France have been recalled. Marketed from 06/25/2024 to 07/20/2024 under the Jean Chapin brand, they are likely to contain indigestible goods “residues of veterinary drugs”.

The following models are affected: Halal Merguez 50-60g natural casing; Halal Merguez special sandwich; Halal Merguez in 2.3kg, Vacuum-packed Halal Merguez. Not all references are subject to a recall. The batches not to be consumed are numbered: 970/241770035, 970/241770036, 970/241770037 and 970/241770047. Their use-by dates range from July 13 to 20, 2024.

To avoid any risk, Authorities call for people to stop consuming these sausagesz. The product can be returned to the point of sale where it was purchased, in order to obtain a refund, until Saturday, August 3, 2024, the end date of the recall procedure.
