Embroidellini: Bologna’s Italian cuisine revisited in halal version

In Bologna, five brothers of Syrian origin launched a daring bet: offer the great classics of Italian cuisine in halal version. In their small shop called Brodellini, installed in the popular Bolognina district, we now find Tortellini, Tagliatelle, Piadine or Salumi prepared in compliance with Islamic precepts.

Born in Bologna to parents installed for half a century, the founders grew up with the Pasta Fatta in Casa on Sunday, but have always lacked halal options outside the home. By associating their passion for Italian gastronomy and their professional know-how, they wanted to fill this lack and offer a faithful alternative to the local taste. Their cuisine already appeals far beyond the Muslim community: recipes worked with sfogline100 % Italian Halal certified ingredients, and attention paid to drinks, all non -alcoholic and local. Result: queues in front of the store and a viral success on social networks.

But the adventure of Brodellini is also a declaration of intention: to demonstrate that innovation can arise from the dialogue between cultures. By reinterpreting the monuments of Italian cuisine without distorting the mind, the five brothers recall that a living tradition is the one who knows how to open, renew themselves and share. Brodellini is not only a commercial success. It is also the symbol of a cultural change: to prove that one can preserve the soul of Italian cuisine while opening it to new sensitivities, in an Italy where diversity and tradition can walk hand in hand.
