A Man’s Hair Falling Out of His Cap

September 8, 2005

Question

My cousin brother’s one or two hair comes over his forehead during Sujud inspite of moving it away from forehead by hand.  Even if he wears cap 1 or 2 hairs comes over forehead.  Is his prayer valid?  If yes can you give evidence from Hadith?  If no what is the solution?

Thank you.

Was Salaam.

Answer

It should be stressed that covering of hair is not a necessary condition for prayers to be valid. There is no such directive regarding hair falling where it may. In light of the fact that there is no prohibition of the stated occurrence there is no invalidation of the prayers. Your cousin’s prayers are valid and insha’Allah accepted by the Almighty.

I hope I have clarified the issue.

God knows best.
