A Muslim astronomer at the next Science-Religion Summit in London
Astronomer Dr. Munazza Alam will be one of the keynote speakers at the upcoming “God Summit,” a major international conference dedicated to the dialogue between science and religion, to be held January 25-26, 2025 in London. This annual meeting, organized by The Review of Religions, brings together scientists, academics and religious leaders to explore the links between faith and modern scientific discoveries. A meeting that has become essential for reflection on the coexistence between spirituality and science.
In a preparatory interview, Dr. Alam shares his vision of this relationship: “Every phenomenon in the universe testifies to the divine presence”. This star formation specialist emphasizes that the Koran occupies a unique place among sacred texts in its encouragement of the study of the universe.
“The Quranic verses on science shape my understanding and my study of the universe,” explains the scientist, for whom Muslim faith and astronomical research nourish each other. A prospect which promises exciting exchanges during this summit which has become a major crossroads for interfaith and scientific dialogue.
