Anti-Semitic attack in Bondi: Naveed Akram’s former teacher strongly condemns acts “the antithesis of Islam”

The former teacher of Naveed Akram, 24, author of the anti-Semitic attack in Bondi, publicly condemned the facts, recalling that they are in total contradiction with the fundamental principles of Islam. Sheikh Adam Ismail, a Muslim teacher in Sydney and director of the Al-Murad Institute, spoke out after a photo surfaced on social media showing him alongside his former student during the presentation of a religious certificate.
In a video published Monday, he made a point of clarifying the nature of his relationship with Naveed Akram, explaining that he only supervised him over a limited period, between 2019 and 2020, for Quran recitation and Arabic language lessons. “I have absolutely no involvement in what happened in Bondi,” he said, emphasizing that this teaching fell exclusively within the educational framework.
Sheikh Adam Ismail strongly condemned an anti-Semitic attack which he considers “strictly prohibited in Islam”, recalling that any violence targeting innocent civilians constitutes a serious religious and moral transgression. Since speaking out, the teacher claims to have been the subject of death threats aimed at his family. He denounces a climate of amalgamation and stigmatization, calling for all Muslims not to be held responsible for the criminal acts of an individual.
