Arrest warrant against Netanyahu: The CFCM denounces the moral sinking of certain French media and personalities

French people advocate the abandonment of international law in favor of the law of the strongest, chaos and injustice.

For more than a year, the world has watched helplessly as the systematic destruction of the civilian population of Gaza has taken place. This drama, accompanied by explicit declarations from Israeli ministers and officials bluntly affirming their genocidal intentions, illustrates a tragic escalation in barbarity and impunity.

Faced with this situation, the arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Benyamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials for war crimes and crimes against humanity appear to be a glimmer of hope. A fragile promise of justice and peace in the darkness imposed on Gaza.

These mandates must mark a turning point: the end of impunity for those responsible for these atrocities, but also for their accomplices and unconditional supporters. No one can place themselves above the laws and international law.

However, the members of the CFCM note with indignation the moral sinking of certain French media and personalities. The latter persist in defending B. Netanyahu at all costs, even if it means sacrificing what remains of international law. Their unconditional support reinforces the idea of a return to anarchy, to the law of the strongest and to barbarism.

To the war crimes and crimes against humanity recognized by the ICC, these media and personalities dare to oppose a fallacious argument of authority: “Israel is a democracy. »

But whether Israel is a democracy or not is not the question. What matters are the thousands of innocent lives – mainly women and children – crushed every day by the savagery of an extremist and fanatical power. Meanwhile, the world remains inactive, and some accomplices justify the unjustifiable.

Even more alarming, the French are now directly attacking the ICC, its magistrates, and other international institutions such as the UN and its secretary general. These institutions are accused of anti-Semitism by French personalities who shamelessly import the outrageous propaganda of Israeli extremists.

These abusive accusations of anti-Semitism are deeply dangerous:

  • They weaken international institutions, guarantors of world peace and freedoms.
  • They discredit the fight against real anti-Semitism, harming those who suffer from it or have suffered from it.

Finally, the recent comments of B. Netanyahu, who compared himself to Captain Dreyfus in responding to these arrest warrants, mark a peak of indecency. This scandalous comparison, echoed by his supporters in France, illustrates how far those who seek to bury justice and the law can go.

The CFCM calls for a moral surge. It is imperative to remember that international justice must not be obstructed and that the law cannot be flouted in the name of partisan interests.
