Attack in Arras: The CFCM strongly condemns this murderous and abject attack
The CFCM strongly condemns the murderous and abject attack perpetrated this morning in a high school in Arras, leaving one teacher dead and two injured, including one in serious condition.
The CFCM presents its sincere condolences to the victim’s family, wishes a speedy recovery to the injured and expresses its total support and full solidarity.
According to witnesses, the author of this heinous attack shouted “Allah Akbar”.
The CFCM wishes to point out that this expression, erected by some as a slogan of cowardice and terrorist barbarity, has been dangerously overused, whereas in the Muslim spiritual tradition it is the symbol of the humility of Man before God.
This horrible attack comes three days before the commemoration of the death of Professor Samuel Paty, cowardly murdered three years ago. It stirs deep wounds and exacerbates traumatic feelings of insecurity.
Faced with this new tragedy, we need more than ever to join forces and strengthen our unity in the fight against the deadly ideologies which can affect some of our young people who are losing their bearings.
