Question

What kind of authority does Islam exercise over people who belong to that religion?

Answer

Though Islam does not control every facet of life it does develop a foundation for every believer to incorporate into every aspect of one’s life. Hence, everyday dealings are to be conducted in honesty and righteousness as per the spirit of Islam. The “walk and talk,” so-to-speak, of every Muslim is supposed to be in accordance with the precepts of Islam. It inculcates the very essence of goodness for those who wish to follow. Islam is the guidance of God to humanity and as such we must, as believers, live in accordance to its explicit decrees and confirm our lives to its corollary teachings.
