February 16, 2011

Question

Assalam u Aliakum

we are thinking to start a business of online Quran teaching in islamabad. For this we have investem some money and going to hire teachers. Mean this business need some basic investment and skills.

Is this allowed in islam to earn money by teaching Quran. i am very much confused in this matter. Please guied me.

Answer

There is nothing in the Shari’ah (Islamic Law) that prohibits you from making an honest living teaching the Qur’an. God has not forbid us from earning wages even if it has to do with religion. Consider the fact that are being paid for time and effort regardless of the material.

I hope this helps.

God knows best.
