Council on American-Islamic Relations calls on Trump to combat Islamophobia, racism

Following the re-election of Donald Trump, the Greater Los Angeles office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA) has renewed its commitment to combating Islamophobia, xenophobia and racism. Executive Director Hussam Ayloush expressed concerns over memories of hostility generated by the 2016 presidency, while welcoming the mobilization of California’s Muslim voters, despite their disillusionment with the two main parties due to the situation in Gaza. CAIR-LA calls on Trump to work for peace and end American complicity in this genocide

CAIR-LA recalled that, under the previous presidency, the organization had actively denounced discriminatory policies such as Muslim Ban and restrictions against migrants, while supporting laws to protect civil and religious rights. Hussam Ayloush insisted that defending the rights of American Muslims remains more crucial than ever and that CAIR-LA will continue to monitor government actions to ensure civil liberties are respected.

Faced with the challenges ahead, the organization remains determined to promote a more just and equitable society, calling for national unity based on justice and dignity for all.
