Drama in Élancourt: Sefa, 16, brain dead, will be transferred to Turkey
Passionate about motorcycles, Sefa, this young 16-year-old boy, unanimously described as “kind and quiet” by the inhabitants of his bucolic neighborhood, nestled in the heart of Vieux Elancourt (Yvelines) where he grew up, was not only swept away by his passion for two-wheelers, on this disastrous Wednesday evening of September 6, 2023.
He was fatally mowed down by a police vehicle which, as Mr. Yassine Bouzrou, the lawyer for his devastated family, asserts, intentionally drove into him, following a refusal to comply. The latter defeats the thesis “accidental or even pure coincidence” defended by the police officers incriminated. Two investigations were carried out, Me Yassine Bouzrou having lodged a complaint against the police for “ attempted intentional homicide.
In a state of brain death, the teenager of Turkish origin, whose fate was struck down in the mild Indian summer in France, while he allowed himself a moment of relaxation on the handlebars of his mini-moto cross ( a Honda CRF), has since been kept alive artificially.
His young life now hangs by a thread, or more precisely by devices and other treatments, entirely suspended by an irreversible decision: to keep him as he is or not.
At the express request of his family, to which the Versailles public prosecutor’s office acceded, Sefa will soon leave Beaujon Hospital, in Clichy (Hauts-de-Seine), to be transferred to Turkey, we learned on Sunday.
This tragic homecoming should be done as soon as possible, so that his “care can continue”, thus fulfilling the dearest wish of his grief-stricken parents.
Friday evening, in the Yves-Farge square in Trappes, which Sefa used to frequent, it was time for meditation, charged with emotion. A “sadaqa” was organized there by the very affected friends of the teenager who, like so many others, absolutely did not deserve such a violent and unjust death, at the dawn of his existence.
