European Parliament: an MP accuses Europe of covering up the crimes of Washington and Tel Aviv

Belgian MP Marc Botenga denounces the European Union’s double discourse on international conflicts.WHY READ:

  • Criticism of European policy in the face of the crimes of Washington and Tel Aviv.
  • Analysis of inconsistencies in European diplomacy.
  • Reflection on human rights and geopolitical interests.

In the European Parliament, Belgian MP Marc Botenga (PTB) delivered a speech of rare intensity, directly denouncing the double discourse of the European Union in the face of international conflicts. In a straightforward speech, he notably stated:

Outrage at the invisible victims

“Iranian children are found dead or barely alive under the rubble of their homes. Every day, Lebanese and Palestinian children share the same fate. However, their life, their death does not deserve clear condemnation here. »

He then denounced the lack of reaction, emphasizing: “And why? But because the culprits are your friends: Tel Aviv in Washington. » Referring to specific news, he challenged the assembly: “The very day that Israel advances a law allowing hundreds of Palestinian prisoners to be executed by hanging, you are organizing a debate solely on the death penalty in Iran. Why this selectivity? »He insisted: “Because I am against these executions whether they take place in Iran, Saudi Arabia or Israel. But you close your eyes when the executioners are your friends. And it’s systematic. »

The double standard at the heart of European politics

He continued by denouncing: “You sanction Russia which attacks Ukraine, but you support the United States which bombs Iran. You condemn Russia which occupies Ukraine, but you support Israel which occupies Palestine and Lebanon. » He also pointed out the diplomatic contradictions: “You condemn Iran, religious system, fate of women, lack of democracy. But you are allying yourself with Saudi Arabia, a religious monarchy, without democracy or women’s rights. »

Continuing his criticism, he denounced: “You condemn Iran and its support for Lebanese Hezbollah, but you do business with the Emirates, which arm genocidal militias in Sudan. He added: “You accuse Venezuela of lack of democracy, but you keep silent when Qatar abolishes elections. » Finally, he concluded firmly: “When our allies occupy, annex, all that is fine, no problem, because it is for our oil, our interests. (…) Today, this Europe is not a force for good but complicit in crime. That’s enough. »

Beyond the political charge, this intervention highlights a reality that is increasingly difficult to ignore: behind its speeches on human rights, Europe practices selective diplomacy, aligned with its interests and its alliances. When Washington strikes, she follows; when Israel acts, it justifies or looks away. It is not a one-off drift but a constant line, which transforms the European Union into a docile relay of the United States and a political guarantee of Israel.

By condemning certain crimes while covering up those of its allies, it no longer defends principles but balances of power. This double standard, forcefully denounced, reveals a brutal truth: far from embodying a moral power, Europe itself participates in the impunity and disorder that it claims to combat.
