Exceptional video of the inauguration of the Great Mosque of Paris in 1926
On July 15, it will be 96 years since the Great Mosque of Paris was inaugurated with great fanfare, in the heart of the 5th arrondissement of Paris, by President Gaston Doumergue. Built in the aftermath of the Great War on the proposal of four Marshals of France, this beacon of Islam, in Hispano-Moorish style and flanked by a 33-meter high minaret, symbolized the recognition of the Nation towards the soldiers. Muslims, fallen on the field of honor for France.
