Food Prepared by a Member of Another Non-Abrahamic Religion (Hindu, Buddhist etc.)

March 5, 2004

Question

I was wondering if it is justifiable to eat food prepared by a non-Abrahamic religion follower? For example, eating from a restaurant where food is prepared by only hindus/buddhists? Thank You, would appreciated your feedback

Answer

One may eat all food cooked by monotheists, provided that all other requirements of Halal food have been fulfilled. As for non-monotheistic creeds, one may eat any food cooked by them, except all such meat, which has to be sacrificed in the name of God, according to the Islamic Shari`ah. I hope this would help.
