Greta Thunberg starts to challenge the Israeli Gaza blockade

Swedish ecological activist Greta Thunberg will participate in a new international flotilla to break the Israeli blockade imposed in Gaza. The departure is scheduled for August 31 from Spain, with dozens of boats joined on September 4 by others from Tunisia and elsewhere. The initiative, baptized Global Sumud Flatillawill also mobilize solidarity actions in more than 44 countries.
Global icon and darling of the media when she defended the climate, Thunberg has now been much less publicized since she took a position for the Palestinian cause. Courageous and faithful to her convictions, she defends human rights and denounces an “illegal seat” which strengthens and encloses more than two million Palestinians. For this commitment, it was unjustly attacked and criticized, because in certain circles, it would especially not be necessary to criticize Israel. Already arrested and expelled by the Hebrew State last June during a previous attempt, she leaves with international activists, including Brazilian Thiago Avila. For the organizers, this flotilla is an act of civil resistance against a blockade qualified as a collective crime, imposed for almost two decades.
