How Do We Convince Non-Muslims About Islam?

October 19, 2001

Question

How can you persuade non-Muslims that the salvation of the world lies in Islam?

What main points would you use?

Answer

In my opinion, it is not any specific set of beliefs and practices, which can be singled out as most convincing in Islam. On the contrary, I consider the coherence of the whole structure of Islam as extremely convincing, for a person, who approaches it with an open and receptive mind. When a person considers the overall targets of the Islamic teachings; analyzes the methods (beliefs and practices) propounded by Islam, to achieve these targets; considers the bases of all the beliefs propounded by Islam and the relevance between the values promoted by Islam and the practices that it prescribes.

Islam is not a combination various directives that look attractive when seen independent of each other. Islam, on the contrary, is a complete set of directives which form a coherent whole. This, in my opinion, is the most attractive part of Islam.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Moiz Amjad
