Jean-Michel Apathie: “The media only reflect a dominant culture, that of the negation of history”

In a video published on Twitter, Jean-Michel Aphatie returned to the debate around the colonization of Algeria by France. He first said that the question of France’s inhumanity towards its colonial conquests was still difficult to approach in the media today. According to him, “This is the problem: we have committed excruciating crimes and we have never recognized them.”

He then mentioned recent declarations of certain political figures on the subject. “Marine Le Pen said: ‘Colonization in Algeria was not a drama.” As for Éric Zemmour, he even said that “it was a benefit for Algeria, a chance for her.” This is what is scandalous.

Finally, he concluded by denouncing the role of the media, which, according to him, “Only reflect a dominant culture, that of the negation of history.” He insisted on his attachment to France and the importance for her not to deny his own values: “I love France and I don’t want it to forget, deny or betray its principles.”
