A muslim man who is incarcerated at this time wants me to be his wife and sent a paper contract with a witness signature on it and his, please explain , is this legal. What is the right way to be married to a muslim.
Answer
As long as you both agree and fulfill the obligations in the contract, the marriage is valid. Marrying a Muslim is no different than a typical marriage or civil union. The Nikah is the Islamic legal contract that Muslims prefer; however, we consider other forms of legal contracts just as valid.
