Message of the Qur’an and the Previous Scriptures

March 30, 2005

Question

What was the main message/guidance of the Qur’an and the previous scriptures (Torah, Gospel, and Psalms) all together? What is the main common denominator of the message for all scriptures including the Qur’an? Thank you.

Answer

In essence all the Divine messages consist of the basic elements of righteousness, honesty, kindness and goodness. However, in terms of faith the most common theme is the concept of the oneness of God. No other feature of belief is more emphasized or given as much significance as the Unity and Uniqueness of God. As a matter of fact it is this very basic concept that reels all the other aspects of faith and moral behavior along with it. With the foundation of One God the rest of our beliefs and behavior are built upon this concept. This is true for the religions whose forefather was Abraham. All share this ideology with the strictest adherence.

I hope I have clarified the issue.

God knows best.
